TECHNOCCULT: COVENANT Eliot Gardepe, 2014 Technoccult: Covenant, an upcoming visual novel by Eliot Gardepe, uses the sounds of the Yamaha YM2608 and Roland JX-305 and lo-fi imagery to emulate the textures and aesthetics of the NEC PC-98 and early 90s electronic music. Drawing inspiration from the music of Ryu Umemoto and Shōji Meguro and visual novels like EVE Burst Error and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, both the game and soundtrack articulate aspects of the psychopunk aesthetic within the context of contemporary narrative art.
